CIVIL AIR PATROL CADETS
Meetings are 7-9 p.m. Mondays at Star Lane Center, west of Poplar on First Street. Boys and girls ages 12-18 participate in search and rescue activities, aerospace education, leadership training, and preparation for U.S. Air Force service as part of the mission of the Civil Air Patrol, the Air Force volunteer auxiliary. N.C. LIBRARY FOUNDATION'S 'EDIBLE BOOK FEST'
The Natrona County Library Foundation presents its second annual fund-raiser, "The Edible Book Fest," at 6:30 p.m. April 1 at Coliseum Motors, 6101 E. Second St. Participants may vote on their favorite edible book, bid on book-themed auction baskets, sample hors d'oeuvres, and listen to jazz music by Casper College's JuJu Jazz ensemble. A cash bar will be available. Natrona County Health Department requires that edible books to be consumed at the event must be prepared in a licensed kitchen; others will be displayed only but will be eligible for prizes. Tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for children ages 12 and under and are available at Blue Heron Books and Espresso in Atrium Plaza downtown, Ralph's Books and Cards in Hilltop Shopping Center, The Flower Gallery and Natrona County Public Library. 'WEEK OF THE YOUNG CHILD' CELEBRATION
April 2, 10 a.m.-3 p.m., Sunrise Shopping Center. Nutrition and Child Development Inc. hosts the fifth annual event, which is free and open to the public. A variety of booths from various community programs and organizations will feature free crafts, games, and activities for children and their families. Parents may learn about services and programs available in the Casper area. Dr. Deon Zeitner of Central Wyoming Optometric Center will provide free vision screenings. Displays in the front parking lot will include heavy-equipment and police and rescue vehicles; the Casper Fire Department "Get Out" firehouse. Beginning at 11 a.m., free Pepsi, Blimpie's sandwiches and Domino's pizza will be served.

*April 2, 7:30 p.m., Competition winners will be showcased. The evening will conclude with an encore performance by Pamela Glasser-Turner on horn and Richard Turner on bassoon, joined by some of their friends. Tickets are $8 for adults, $6 for senior citizens and $2 for students and are available at the door.
