CHEYENNE -- A booking company for Cheyenne Frontier Days is suing an animal rights group in the wake of a decision by the Matchbox Twenty pop rock band to pull out of a scheduled performance this summer.

The lawsuit was filed in federal court in Cheyenne by Omaha, Neb.-based Romeo Entertainment Group.

It seeks a court order to stop the group called SHARK, which stands for Showing Animals Respect and Kindness, from contacting any entertainers that have agreed or may agree in the future to perform at Frontier Days.

The lawsuit contends SHARK was using inaccurate and misleading information in its effort to persuade entertainers to drop their performances in Cheyenne.

" I hope Shark was served during their little dog and pony show in Cheyenne this morning. Welcome to Cheyenne, boys! "

" That's it, the good old American way of settling things, sue these hippies into the dirt from whence the rose! I prefer peace makers at 10 paces...sadly that is no longer in vogue. "

" Ive listened to Match box 20 for years and after when Rob went solo and enjoyed their music , but If he put 1/2 the effort into finding out on his own what CFD was all about instead of going radical Greenie , he and the band would be alot better off . You deserve all you get EX FAN !!!!!!!!!! "

" Peacemakers at 10 paces? They shouldn't get that good of a chance, just catch them and hang them.... Although look on the bright side, Bill Engvall will be taking thier place! so I think we win in this deal! "

" Next they will try to sue Carfax for ruining their car sale by pointing out to the buyer that it was wrecked before or maybe The State of Wyoming for interfering with their social life by listing them on the sex-offender web site. "

" Went to the SHARK web site and looked at the pictures of the "alleged blood" on the starting gate and "alleged blood" on the a horses hoof and must say SHARK has some great graphic artists. copied the pictures then took them in to Adobe Photo shop and blew them up to a 500% increase and looked at them pixel by pixel.
First off the color is red but not the red of blood that has been exposed to the air, too consistent, too red. In addition the alleged blood spatters are totally inconsistent with actual pattern and spread of blood being flung from an open wound. Conclusion they are not real and obviously the photo was doctored.. looked at the video of the steer being drug through the mud and there were three different scensed edited together to make it look real, one portion of the video and the grand stands are empty, next scene and people in a seemingly miracle appear in the previously empty stands
One thing about extremest groups if they have a point to make and you offer them a thousand dollars to tell the truth in order to try and prove their point the will invariably lie to you for free "

" So what is illegal about contacting the performers to persuade them to pull out of the contract? Have we lost the right to express our opinions in this country? "

" A restraining order to keep animal rights weirdos from talking to musicians? Good luck with that. Sounds like a typical dead-end attorney idea. Maybe we should also sue the scientologists for making Tom Cruise a freak. Or maybe we should get a life and book better bands next time. "

" It is funny that this PC hippie freak crowd all support things that are illegal like illicit drug use and they are against everything that is perfectly legal and part of our history and traditions. Why does anyone listen to them at all? "

Cameron wrote on Apr 17, 2008 8:23 PM:

" BG, you know there was no signed contract, right? That's why they aren't going after Matchbox 20. That's how stupid this lawsuit is. CFD had no contract yet, so they are going after the animal rights group who "poisoned the minds" of these helpless band members. That is really hoaky. The judge will throw it out. "

cover up wrote on Apr 19, 2008 8:54 PM:

" If they used material that was falsified to make it look like something other than it actually was causing someone to back out or otherwise prevent a buisness deal to go through then it is legal harm and the judge will consider a make whole remedy. I truley hope the judge will rule against the eco group and award the booking company and the Cheyenne frontier days the hours lost wages paid ect from the start of the negotiations untill they pulled out plus the revenue lost as a result of them not preforming. one has a right to an opinion but one does not have the right to lie and interfere with a buisness deal via use of deception and lies. "
