The Revitalization Association for Main Street wants other folks to know what it already knows -- the community of Glenrock is booming and has much to offer.

The third annual Taste of Glenrock starts at 11 a.m. Saturday in Kimball Park, just north of the Hotel Higgins.

Activities for the whole family, along with loads of information booths and food and beverages to sample, will all be part of the fun, according to organizer Amanda Smith.

"RAMS is dedicated to supporting the businesses of Glenrock," Smith said. "We raise money to help with the aesthetics of the businesses, signage, marketing materials and business start-up costs. As you know, the businesses in Glenrock are not big enough to receive any financial help from any of the organizations throughout the state... and so we started RAMS."

Smith said specific businesses have received enough help to stay in business, move to larger spaces, and hire additional employees.

"Other businesses who were not noticeable because of lack of signage, received beautiful signs paid for by RAMS, as well as other businesses who needed such items as marketing materials like business cards, brochures and even advertising needs," she said. "It's an incredible way to help out a business who truly needs some assistance in order to stay afloat."

Activities include face painting, giant kids games, wheel barrow races, McGruff the Crime Dog, tours of fire and police vehicles, and entertainment for the adults. Beer will also be available for adults.

Participating businesses and organizations include: Glenrock Booster Club, Open Range Magazine, Paisley Shawl, Julie Roumel Jewelry, Home Grown and Healthy, Juice Plus, The Glenrock Bird, Shooting Stars Photography, The Boys and Girls Club, Lions Club, Masons, Production Power Dutch Oven Cooking, The Flower Shop, Jerry's Leather, Popp Companies, Java Jones Coffee, Converse County Coalition, Dignified Designs, StraightLine Subs, Pappy's Pizza, Fort Diablo, Valentine Speedway, Glenrock Fire Department, Glenrock Police Department, Star K Tack and Feed, Cowgirl Country Gifts, The Glenrock Chamber of Commerce and Eatin' with Sal.
