Aquatic Center takes a week off

The Casper Family Aquatic Center will be closed Aug. 11-17 for staff training and annual facility maintenance. The center will resume its regular summer schedule on Aug. 18.

To help meet aquatic recreation needs, Paradise Valley Pool, 5200 W. Iris, and East Casper Pool, 3400 E. 12th St., will be open during this time from noon to 7 p.m., Monday through Saturday. Paradise Valley Pool will also be open from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Aug. 17.

Broadway ticket renewals begin

Season renewals for the 2008-09 Best of Broadway series at the Casper Events Center begin at 10 a.m. Monday, at the Events Center box office and online at www.CasperEventsCenter.com.

This season's lineup includes "Oliver!" on Oct. 10, "Cirque Dreams, Jungle Fantasy" on Dec. 3, "Lord of the Dance" on Dec. 21, "The Pajama Game" on Jan. 22, "Dirt Rotten Scoundrels" on March 30, and "The Barkyardigans Live" on May 3.

All sales are on a first come, first served basis.

Library sets endowment goal

The Natrona County Public Library Foundation recently set a fundraising goal of $300,000 to benefit the group's endowment, according to a release.

The 2008 Legislature established a program that matches funds raised for statewide public library endowments, and up to $295,652 in funds raised by PCPLF would be matched.

Income from the endowment is used to support expanded library programs and materials. Examples of foundation supported-programs include the youth summer reading program and additions to the library's Petroleum Collection.

TAT opens for Alice Cooper

TAT, a three-piece, female-fronted, punk/rock band from the United Kingdom, will open for Alice Cooper when he performs at 7:30 p.m. on Aug. 12 at the Casper Events Center.

TAT was part of the US Warped tour in 2006, support tours with The Bouncing Souls, Me First, The Gimme Gimmes, NOFX, and The Offspring. The band is now promoting its debut album.
