BOZEMAN, Mont. -- The Yellowstone Park Foundation gave more than $11 million to Yellowstone National Park in 2008.

The money from the nonprofit based in Bozeman, Mont., went toward a number of park programs and initiatives.

It gave $8.8 million for construction of the Old Faithful Visitor Education Center, which will be completed in the summer of 2010.

Another $343,000 went to the Yellowstone Youth Conservation Corps and to help fund youth education programs.

Money also went to wolf research and conservation, other educational programs, trail rehabilitation and fisheries conservation.

Foundation President Paul Zambernardi said more than 10,000 individuals, foundations and corporations donated to last year's effort.
